Arbonne: The Perfect Choice For Stunning Skin!

Every woman knows beautiful skin is key to the healthy and youthful appearance we all strive for.

I receive so many emails asking me about what skin products I love and recommend.

I had heard about Arbonne over the years but had never really taken the opportunity to try it. My good Friend Amber Hester is a consultant for Arbonne and she shared with me how much she loved it so I knew I had to try it out myself!

Before I even tried the products I did a bit of research on the history of Arbonne. They have actually had a strong presence in the US since 1980. Their product line has grown to include products for both inner and outer health and beauty.

I started with the Advanced Smoothing Facial Cleanser. It glided on my skin like silk! It has a light citrus orange scent that is incredible! It reminds me of going to a spa! Just a really light and fresh scent! My skin felt so clean and soft! The true test of an incredible facial cleanser is also how well it takes off mascara. This cleanser completely removed the mascara without a single streak! There was no sensitivity to my eyes either which was great!

I followed the cleanser with the Advanced Regenerating Toner. It also has the light and fresh citrus scent. I used it on my face and neck. It made my skin feel silky and fresh.

I was really excited to try the Intensive Renewal Serum! It claims to boost collagen and diminish fine lines. I have used it now daily for 4 days and I really am seeing improvement already!

I am always skeptical about eye creams. How much improvement can you really get?
The Advanced Corrective Eye Cream is really a great product! It gently slides on the delicate under eye area and absorbs easily. I am on day 4 with this as well and I really do see less puffiness and a diminishing of dark circles too! It aids in collagen building too, which I always hear is key!

I topped everything off with the Restorative Day Cream. It applied easily over my face and neck and absorbed quickly into my skin leaving no sticky residue. When I applied my foundation it actually seemed to go on easier and even spread more evenly than with other moisturizers I have tried.

The bottom line is I LOVE these products! In only 4 days my skin feels cleaner fresher and more hydrated than ever before! I actually went to the grocery store with very little makeup on this weekend and a lady stopped me and complimented me on my skin! Wow! Nothing feels better than that! Try it for yourself. I have been having my nails done for as long as I can remember and I consider it a great way to make a statement, complete a look and a great way to give your self some regular pampering! Your Skin Feels Incredible With Become!

I always enjoy trying new skin product lines as I tend to be pretty fickle and like to change it up a lot with all the products I use.

When I heard about the become skincare line I knew I had to try it out!

Who is become? They are a break- through Australian Beauty and Wellness Company founded by beauty exec Stephanie White with the most effective approach to countering the signs of aging –inside and out. (They also have Nutritional Products)

Become’s mission statement is to deliver confidence by sharing the gifts of become with everyone they touch, every day.

Ok so how are the products? I tried all the products in their Weekender Sampler Kit.

First I started with the Foaming Cleanser. It glides on the skin. It has a very light and fresh scent which adds to the soothing experience. It took off my mascara really well and left my skin feeling soft and fresh!

Next I tried the Face Smoothing Gel. This was my favorite product in the line because I love exfoliating my skin and this is truly one of the best I have ever used!
It lightly polishes the skin ridding it of those dead skin cells leaving the skin as soft as a baby’s skin. LOVED this product! They recommend 3 times a week but I would use it even more! It is so gentle but really effective!

I don’t usually use a toner as I find them to be drying but next I tried their Spray Toner. It comes as a spray but I had it in a sampler so I had to pat it on my face. I actually found it light and refreshing and It did not dry out my skin. Nice product!

Next I used the Hydration Serum. And it does just that! After using it my skin felt amazing!

I followed that with the Day Cream. I tend to be pretty shy about moisturizers as I find many of them on the heavy side. This was truly the perfect balance of providing the needed moisture our skin needs while not leaving the skin feeling greasy. My makeup glided on after I used the Day Cream. Really a great product!

Finally, at night I used the Eye Cream. (It can be used in the morning too) I don’t normally use an eye cream but it felt amazing when I put it on! I shared it with a friend who is crazy about using eye cream and she loved it too!

The bottom line is I recommend these wonderful products!

Abi Ferrin “Nikki” 5-way Dress A Perfect Addition To Your Closet!

Every now and again a dress comes around that truly is amazing! I was shopping in Nordstrom recently when I was immediately drawn to a rack of bold colored dresses.

As I got closer and started looking at the dresses the sales associate came over and shared with me how incredible these Abi Ferrin 5 way dresses really are and that the hanger does not do them justice.

She began do describe to me the many different ways the dress could be warn. It is like having 5 new dresses! One of the looks makes it a tunic top that you could wear over skinny jeans or leggings!

As I was a bit sweaty from a 4 mile run, I did not want to try anything on. She assured me I would love it (I figured I would) and if I didn’t of course I could bring it back.

I don’t know about you guys but sometimes I don’t feel like putting on lip liner and lipstick but I still want a kiss of color and a little moisturizer too.

I was traveling with my dear friend Kristin Chenoweth a few weeks back and she pulled a tube of Nivea A Kiss Of Shimmer out of her purse and quickly put it on without even looking in the mirror as we were getting out of the car. Her lips looked so pretty! I asked her about it and she says she never leaves the house without it and she keeps some in every purse or bag she carries. We headed into the drugstore and she bought every tube they had and gave me one to try. I LOVE IT!

It is great when you are in a hurry and need a touch up on your lips. It’s moisturizing and smells good too! It glides on the lips and feels soft and smooth kind of like chapstick with a kick of color.

Now I am addicted! I told another friend about it and she is now addicted to this great product! Sometimes I even wear this when normally I would have pencil and lipstick on my lips.

Your Eyes Will Look Stunning With Sue Devitt Pencils!

I have a new favorite eye pencil that I can’t wait to share with you!
Have you heard of the Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencils? Well if you haven’t you will LOVE them!

Every makeup artist I have worked with through the years lines my eyes all the way around on the inside edges top and bottom. This is a great way to make your eyes really “pop”. I prefer to do this than put liner below the lash line. I smudge with shadow there for that extra smoky look.

What is so special about Sue Devitt Pencils? Well they glide on like silk! That is key when you place the liner in these delicate areas around the eye. Most liners require going over and over the area again and again to get the desired darkness. Not Sue Devitt. I love their beautiful color choices too. If you guys are like me, it is really difficult to travel light! Oscar Fashions Fit The Usual Model of Hit and Miss.

Ah the Oscars! We wait with excitement each year to be entertained by the host(s) and blown away by the fashion.
This year I must admit was neither for me. Nothing against Anne Hathaway and James Franco. They did the best they could. It is a hard shoe to fit to have the perfect combo needed of humor and timing to keep the Oscars a float.

What a breath of fresh air it when Billy Crystal hit the stage! As a friend of mine so clearly stated the crowd clapped loudly in the hopes that he would please just stay!

Anyway, I must say for the most part I was happy with the Oscars awarded. Most were a pretty obvious choice this year that is for sure. Many were upset that Annette Bening did not win against Natalie Portman. I wish I had seen both films. I did see Black Swan and was truly impressed with Portman’s portrayal of a mentally ill ballerina. It was breathtaking.

Ok! Let’s get to the fashion. Overall I found it pretty lackluster. It was easy for me to choose my top three designs this year. Here they are:

My favorite overall was Halle Berry! Her stunning Marchesa gown truly took my breath away! Some critics say they thought there was too much going on at the bottom of the gown. I say it was perfection for the stage of the Kodak. That weight at the bottom is well suited for the big stage.

My number two was the beautiful yet simple deep red stunner worn by Oscar newcomer & nominee Jennifer Lawrence. This Calvin Klein was perfection! It fit her to a glove with classic yet bold elegance. Loved the minimal jewelry too. Beautiful!

And last but not least would be the Gucci Premier stunner warn by Hilary Swank. I am usually turned off when I see lots of sequins as they remind me so much of pageant dresses but I thought this beautifully designed gown was perfection on the ever fit Swank.

I must also mention however the lovely Hailee Steinfeld! Her look was perfection! She was perfectly dressed in her soft pink Marchesa gown!! Love-Love-Love her look!

My biggest fashion faux-pa of the night? Hmmm. I must say I was quite disappointed by Nicole Kidman. She usually really hits the mark with her red carpet fashion. This year the dress was totally wierd and stiff, the white makes her look even more pale than she already is and the hair?? Boring. Sorry Nicole!

With Valentines Day just around the corner I was researching fun gifts for those of you who are still searching for ideas and I had an “Aha Moment!”

How about this year making Valentines Day special for someone who may not have celebrated Valentines Day in Years? Someone who could use a little sunshine in their life and some cheering up.

Do you have an elderly neighbor who may have lost their spouse? Stop by and see them and bring them some candy and a card or some flowers just because. You will see the joy you bring them just by thinking of them.

Perhaps you know someone who has been going through a divorce or a bad breakup. Send them a Valentine. It will brighten their day. Just for a few moments they will know someone cares.

Have a friend or a loved one you have lost touch with? We all do! This is a perfect way to reconnect. Send them a Valentines card or candy or flowers. Let them know you are thinking of them and want to reconnect.

Visit a nearby nursing home. Drop off flowers or valentine cards. Most homes will let you visit residents in common areas and spread some sunshine to their day. Many of them never have visitors.

Take some Valentines Day themed stuffed animals to your nearest hospital for the kids who have to be in the hospital over Valentines Day. It will make them feel better and give them a cuddly friend to stay with them while they are there.

Know someone at your workplace who has seemed down lately? Put some flowers a card or candy at their desk. You can choose to be anonymous if you wish. It is the thought that counts. It is always fun to know someone was thinking of you.

Make this Valentines Day a memorable one. Think outside the box. Make a difference in your workplace or community.

Clinique High Impact Mascara Is Incredible!

Ok! Finally! You guys know how important my mascara is to me! Probably THE most important item in my cosmetic bag! Ever since they discontinued my favorite mascara of all time I have been on a tireless search to find a replacement! I love January! The New Year is the perfect time to wipe the slate clean. A time to make resolutions and keep them!

The older I get, the more I realize the great importance of being fulfilled while we are here on this earth. So much time is wasted yearning for tomorrow! The time is NOW! I say this as much for myself as for you guys. I am always saying, “ I will be happy when...” I need to be happy NOW! That is my new mission statement!

This year make the commitment to yourself to take time for yourself. Really think about and focus on your goals and dreams you may not have achieved. There is no better time than in the freshness of a new year to head full force toward fulfillment. Take that class you have always wanted to take. Reconnect with friends you have lost touch with. Spend more time with your kids. Start that company you have always dreamed of. Take a risk! Do something that scares you!

A friend of mine has a bucket list. I always thought of bucket lists taking place later in life. How do we know we will get to later in life. I am writing my bucket list NOW!. I want to really LIVE. Make your bucket list NOW!

Don’t settle in your life! You deserve to live your dreams! So many elderly people tell me they “Wish they had...” or they “Always wanted to....” Take a lesson from them and GO FOR IT! Whatever that means for you make 2011 your most beautiful year EVER!

How Much Is Too Much When Purchasing A Designer Handbag?

When it comes to handbags I tend to be very picky. I don’t like to change bags a lot during the week and tend to stick with one bag for long periods of time. The last time I purchased a handbag was my Louis Vuitton Eclipse about 4 years ago.

I decided recently that it was time to start looking for something new. I also decided that it should be black so it will go with many things as I will probably carry it most of the time on a daily basis.

In the past, I found it pretty easy to find a new bag as I know a bag I like when I see it. I purchase it and its done. This time has been a bit more challenging. I was shocked to discover that prices for quality designer bags has skyrocketed! In this economy?? I couldn’t believe how many people were at the mall last weekend! It looked like the day before Christmas! Is this a sign of financial recovery? I sure hope so!

Anyway, I visited a mall here in LA called South Coast Plaza as they have all the high end designer stores as well as mid range stores too. I wanted to go into Louis Vuitton as I wanted to ask about refurbishing my existing purse. I did not expect to find a black purse there as that is not usually included in their line. Well I “thought” that anyway!

I spied a gorgeous black bag up high on their display shelf. I thought, I LOVE the way that bag looks! It is their Alma MM EPI Electric Bag. I asked the sales clerk to please get it down for me. From the moment my hand clutched the handle I was smitten! GORGEOUS! So sleek and elegant and roomy! I thought to myself, “This could be the bag for me!” And now for the most important part…how much is this beautiful specimen? When I purchased my current bag it was around $800 so I thought this might be a bit more but hopefully close! $2010.00!!! What! I gulped inside. I did not want to show my shock at that price but I almost gasped! I looked at my husband and he looked as though he might faint! I politely said “ Thanks!” “I love this bag but I just started looking.” I took her card and politely handed it back licking my wounds of despair that I would not be taking it with me.

“Onward and upward” I thought !”I would find an equally beautiful bag for less somewhere else!”

I love Jimmy Choo! Let’s go check out their line! I spied a beautiful bag in the back of the store! It was the Blythe/L Bag in in black with gold hardware. Really cute bag with lots of character! “Surely this will be less!” Well it WAS! Just not much! $1895!

“Wow” “What a bargain!” I said I would think about it and proceeded on. What about Michael Kors? I came upon their Hamilton Quilted Tote In Black Patent Leather. I like the style and look of the bag. It is fun with flair for sure. I kept thinking about the Louis Vuitton though. I took a look at the price tag $348,00. My husband said “ Now Were talking!”. “Hmm”. “I guess this would be the one I SHOULD choose of the three.”

I decided to walk away. I just couldn’t decide if I would be happy with the Michael Kors. Would I be buying it just to buy it? Should I just start saving for my favorite? (the LV) or even the Jimmy Choo? If I start now I could probably purchase one about the time they aren’t available anymore!

LOL! Bottom line is, I am still thinking. I plan to go this weekend and look at some other designs. Maybe I will find the perfect black bag! We shall see! Now that you guys see the three I like, what do you think? Have you seen some fabulous black bags in your shopping excursions recently? Let me know about them! Maybe one just might be the perfect bag for me!

When I was little, my grandparents did not take many photographs. It just wasn’t something they were big on. That is why I think photographs are so important. My friends get frustrated with me at times because I make them take so many pictures at celebrations and events. (They are always SO happy when they all get copies of the images after it is over)

Life is such a fragile thing. It goes by so quickly. Capturing special and everyday moments are so important. In our fast paced lifestyles today, they are even more important. In this digital age, it is so easy to take great pictures and save them for years to come.

I consider myself to be pretty “tech” savvy but recently I learned about creating books with the special photo’s you have. If you visit popular photo sites like snapfish you have probably seen the option to create book of your albums and photo’s.

One day a friend of mine was showing me a book that her husband had created which chronicled the first six months of their sons life. I could not believe what I was seeing! This book looked like it could be sold for $100 at Borders! I had to know how to create one of these!

I am a mac user and his book was created right from iphoto! I immediately checked it out! I knew I had to make a book! My husband and I traveled to Hawaii a few weeks later and I took tons of fun pics. When I got home I got to work on it and discovered how easy it is! Once I created it it took about a week to get the finished book in the mail! It is stunning! In iphoto you have options to set it up and make it look exactly as you want it. I am sure the other sites are the same.

As I am writing this post it is over 100 degrees here in LA today. It seems like it is the dead of summer which makes it really difficult to even think of talking about fall weather and fall trends but as many of you are beginning to experience the hint of Fall in the air I feel I must!

One of the biggest trends this fall is leather. In my opinion, classic leather items really never go out of style. I have a sleek black leather jacket that I continually wear and still see its likeness each year on the racks of many department stores.

This year the trend is a bit different. The idea is to add a touch of leather to your look combined with something feminine to keep the look soft. Emmy Fashion A Bit Lacking This Year

I love to see the fashion on the award show red carpets! They really set the trends for the season to come. The Emmy’s which aired Sunday night were a bit lackluster with regards to fashion this year. The word “bland” comes to mind actually. There really wasn’t a dress in the bunch that took my breath away. This is really rare too as usually at least several hit it out of the park with their fabulous designs.

I received lots of emails asking my opinion so if I had to name my top 3 looks of the evening, I would say my #1 was Claire Danes. She wore a beautiful beaded Armani Prive which was by far the most beautiful on the Red Carpet. The color was beautiful on her lightly tanned skin and looked great with her super blonde locks too. A very Glamorous choice!

My number two would be Glee’s Leah Michele. Navy was the hottest color of the evening and her Oscar de la Renta was the best of the best! With Lorraine Schwartz jewels, a stunning sweetheart neckline and a ruffled mermaid hem, being blue has never looked so glamorous!

Rounding out my top three at number 3 is the lovely Maura Tierney. She looked incredible! I love how the dress changes from crimson to sweet orange depending on the light, but one thing is very clear -- it's the perfect hue for her. Her choice of very minimal jewels, complimented by her flattering pixie hair style is a winner! The lovely vintage dress' detailed lace overlay is truly a knockout.

I would like to mention that I did like Eva Longoria’s black dress too. Pretty dress. It would have been my number 4.

As far as the Best Drama Emmy Winner Mad Men cast goes Jon Hamm is truly the winner in his Grey and Black Tux!

Now with regard to January Jones his Mad Men cast mate?
What was she thinking??

Sometimes the smallest act of kindness makes the biggest difference. I always try and remind myself to affirm others and compliment others on a daily business. It is incredible what kind words and affirmations can do.

Driving to work this morning I was pleasantly surprised at someone’s tasteful affirmations posted on three trees along the roadway.

The first one said “You are beautiful”, the second one said “Have a fantastic day” and the third one said “You can achieve your dreams”. I was truly blown away! It was very simply written with colorful crayon in a childlike script.

I wondered, “Was this part of a class project?” I would love to know the person who did this as I truly believe this to be a perfect example of how we can help one another to lead a more glamorous life. It is in these small yet perfect ways, that change can really happen in someone’s life.

As I drove by my heart smiled. I certainly hope it made a difference to others who passed by.

As I drove past, I noticed another car behind me actually stop by each sign. I could see them smiling. I guess I got my answer!

I think I will try this on another street. So Glamorous!
